Behavioral Health Tech (FT)-CSU

POSITION SUMMARY

The Behavioral Health Tech provides direct, compassionate, and empathetic care to individuals served with behavioral health needs, which includes observing and monitoring individuals' behavior. The Behavioral Health Tech supports individuals served with activities of daily living (ADL), supports other staff to ensure individuals served participate in prescribed treatment and activities, leads activity groups, and community meetings. The Behavioral Health Tech will also work in areas of patient admissions, which include orienting individuals to the program and ensuring all program tasks are completed properly with the Adult Emergency and Crisis Stabilization facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a High school Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of dead weight
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills?

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with team members to de-escalate individuals' served behaviors.
  • Supporting individuals served in achieving optimal wellness in a therapeutic environment.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the program through observing the individuals served's behavior and through detailed screenings and searches.
  • Accurate and timely completion of required chart documentation
  • Provide appropriate nutrition based on the individuals served's dietary needs.

EMPLOYMENT ENVIRONMENT AND TASKS:

  • A secure facility that provides an inpatient treatment program for those experiencing a mental health emergency needing 24-hour care in a safe, supportive environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.
  • May be required to stand for an extended period and/or for the entire work shift.
  • Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stressful situations.
  • Managing and organizing the continuous workflow of the unit and workspace, including the cleanliness of the environment.
  • Inpatient behavioral health care setting. Fast-paced team approach. Multi-tasking. Requires above-average time management skills.
  • The ability to take direction and guidance in a respectful manner from managers and supervisors.
  • The ability to follow our code of conduct and to interact in a respectful, professional manner in a teamwork setting.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
