Behavioral Health Tech PRN-CCSU

POSITION OVERVIEW?

A Behavioral Health Tech provides direct care to individuals served with behavioral health needs which includes observing and monitoring individuals' served behavior; and supporting individuals served (ages 5-17 years old) with activities of daily living (ADL) in the Children's Emergency Crisis Stabilization facility. The Behavioral Health Tech will support other staff to ensure individuals served participate in prescribed treatment and activities, leading activity groups and community meetings, admitting and orienting individuals served to the program, and assuring all program tasks are completed properly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a High school Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs of dead weight
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills?

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with team members to de-escalate individuals' served behaviors through trained verbal resolution and/or hands-on restraining techniques.
  • Assist individuals served in daily living activities therapeutic environment.
  • Maintain safety and security of the program, including individuals served, staff, and visitors, through detailed hands-on screenings and searches.
  • Accurate and timely completion of required individuals served via documentation.
  • Monitor individuals' served behavior and address concerns.
  • Provide appropriate nutrition based on individuals served of dietary needs.

EMPLOYMENT ENVIRONMENT AND TASKS:

  • Secure facility that provides inpatient treatment programs for those experiencing a mental health emergency needing 24-hour care in a safe, supportive environment.
  • This is a 28-bed Children's Crisis inpatient served care facility.?
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.
  • May be required to stand for an extended period and/or for the entire work shift.
  • Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stressful situations.
