Behavioral Health Tech PRN-FTP North

The Behavioral Health Tech will provides direct, compassionate, and empathetic care to individuals served with behavioral health needs which includes observing and monitoring individuals’ served behavior; supporting individuals served with activities of daily living (ADL); supporting other staff to ensure individuals served participate in prescribed treatment and activities, leading activity groups and community meetings, admitting and orienting individuals served to the Forensics Residence program and assuring all program tasks are completed properly.

ABOUT FORENSIC PROGRAM

The Forensics Treatment Program is a 24/7 secured residential program housing adults 18 years and older who meet the criteria under a court-ordered program. Our residential treatment program serves individuals found incompetent to stand trial on felony charges, providing intensive therapeutic intervention designed to restore competency while promoting long-term mental health recovery and community integration. This specialized program offers an alternative to long-term hospitalization in state facilities, providing treatment in a community-based setting that better prepares individuals for successful reentry.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in the mental health field or health care setting preferred. BHT certification preferred.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with individuals served, co-workers, and visitors. Must have leadership skills.
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance (if driving on the job).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring individuals served according to program policies and procedures.
  • Supporting individuals served with ADLs according to the therapeutic environment.
  • Maintaining the safety and security of the program, including individuals served, staff, and visitors.
  • Accurate and timely completion of required chart documentation.
  • Managing and organizing the continuous workflow of the program and workspace, including the cleanliness of the environment.
  • Providing appropriate nutrition based on the individuals' served dietary needs as directed by the dietitian.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed as per program requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress.?
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.
  • May be required to stand for an extended period.
