The Registered Nurse is a professional who will provide direct nursing care to patients with behavioral health disorders based on a systematized body of knowledge. Oversees care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses while providing clinical assessments and compassionate patient care for individuals who are being assessed under Ibis Healthcare's FACT program. Utilizes nursing process including assessment, identification of nursing problems, planning, execution, evaluation and modification of nursing interventions as determined by patient outcomes. Acknowledges, coordinates and implements diagnostic and therapeutic orders. Assures patient safety through safe administration of medications, prevention of violent behavior, patient injury, and infection control. Participates as a contributing member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Participates in Quality Improvement activities

POSITION OVERVIEW
- Communicates and coordinates services with other medical providers, focusing on health promotion, prevention, and educational activities related to patient behavior.
- Educates FACT team members on monitoring psychiatric symptoms and medication side effects
- Collaborates with team members to assist patients in developing strategies to improve medication compliance.
- Supports the management of caseloads and may assist with patient transportation as needed.
- May deliver medications to patients and document their self-administration of these medications.
- All FACT team members will participate in on-call rotations, which will include evening and weekend coverage, so availability for these varying hours is required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a Registered Nurse program with 1 year's experience preferred.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse program in the State of Florida.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, families, employees, and the general public.
- An ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to multi-task, display decision-making and critical thinking skills, and basic computer skills.
- Share professional and technical knowledge following policies and procedures.
- Valid Florida driver's license and must be at least 21 years of age or over
- Must have valid car insurance and reliable transportation.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assess the physiological, psychosocial, and environmental needs of patients and report findings to the Registered Nurse.
- Implement the plan of care based on nursing standards and practice.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of nursing interventions defined in the plan of care.
- Ensure accurate and complete required documentation to be approved by a Registered Nurse or DNP.
- Demonstrate competency in critical thinking and decision-making skills and involve a Registered Nurse / DNP when required.
- Monitor staff and continuous workflow of the program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, hearing, reading and writing, and remaining calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.
