Staff Accountant

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of associate degree plus five years experience in accounts payable/receivable accounting. Ability to use computer accounting, spreadsheet and work with QuickBooks software. Must have a reliable source of transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance if driving while on the job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office, on-site, health care setting. Most work completed while seated at desk using standard office equipment. Fast paced, team approach. Multi-tasking requiring above average time management skills. Team approach.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitors revenues, and expenditures to manage fiscal operations within the approved budget. Reviews all deposit slips for accuracy.
  • Processes all documents for payment, verifying accuracy, completeness, approvals, original documents, account code, payment date, etc.
  • Creates, prints, and files necessary accounts payable/receivable reports i.e. Balance sheet, Profit and Loss, etc.
  • Insures that checks are prepared accurately and timely, and distributed along with any necessary accompanying data.
  • Prepares budget and rent increase package for annual review.
  • Reconciles and files bank statements monthly.

  • Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
  • Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency and department.
  • Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurately.

  • Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with staff, general public.
  • Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stress.

  • Effective, efficient use of agency resources, systems, equipment and processes.
