Therapist - MAT Program

The Therapist is an advanced professional who will provide clinical intervention and case management for clients who are enrolled in the Medication Assisted Treatment Center maintenance program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Master's Degree in a related field and a Florida License (Registered Intern, LMHC, LCSW, LMFT). We encourage candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish to apply, especially those with 1-2 years of relevant experience working with a similar patient population. Compute proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel) and Electronic Medical Records experience. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Knowledge of 12-step program, behavior modification, case management, and addiction.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct client assessments and evaluations; develop and implement treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide case management services for clients.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical records.
  • Submit reports as required.
  • Participate in clinical staffings and team meetings
  • Make referrals to appropriate resource agencies
  • Provide feedback to resource agencies
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed.
  • Participating in staff development activities
  • Serve as a mentor to Non-Exempt OATS staff, when needed.
  • Assist in the training and education of other staff members, interns, and students.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
General climate-controlled health care setting. Requires flexibility between desk and patient areas to perform duties. Interface with patients in an outpatient or methadone clinic environment. Fast paced. Multi-tasking requires above-average time management skills. Team approach.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Abilities include reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and staying calm under stress. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required include close-up, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds alone. May be required to give standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.
