Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day human resources functions for Ibis Healthcare. This position provides strategic and operational HR support to leadership and employees while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
The Human Resources Manager serves as a trusted resource to employees and leaders, supporting employee relations, recruitment and retention, performance management, onboarding, training, compliance, benefits administration, and HR policy implementation. The position requires strong judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources Operations
- Manage daily HR operations and ensure timely and accurate completion of HR processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records and HR documentation.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently implemented throughout the organization.
- Partner with the CHRO and leadership team on HR initiatives and organizational priorities.
- Monitor HR metrics and prepare reports for leadership as requested.
Recruitment and Staffing
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, selection, and hiring.
- Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Facilitate new-hire onboarding and orientation.
- Ensure required employment documentation and background screening requirements are completed prior to or during employment, as applicable.
- Support employee retention initiatives and workforce planning.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding workplace concerns, policies, and employment practices.
- Investigate employee complaints and workplace concerns objectively and confidentially.
- Assist managers with disciplinary actions, performance concerns, coaching, and corrective action.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and professional workplace culture.
- Escalate significant employee relations matters to the CHRO when appropriate.
Performance Management
- Coordinate the annual performance evaluation process.
- Assist managers in developing effective performance goals and providing meaningful employee feedback.
- Monitor completion of performance evaluations and ensure required documentation is maintained.
- Provide guidance regarding performance improvement plans and corrective action.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal and Florida employment laws and regulations.
- Support compliance with employment requirements, including wage and hour, leave, workplace accommodations, anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, and employee recordkeeping requirements.
- Assist with internal HR audits and compliance reviews.
- Maintain required HR documentation and records.
- Partner with leadership to identify and mitigate HR-related risks.
Benefits and Leave Administration
- Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs.
- Serve as a resource to employees regarding benefits and eligibility.
- Coordinate employee leave requests and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Partner with benefits providers and vendors as necessary.
- Support annual benefits enrollment activities.
Training and Development
- Coordinate or facilitate employee training programs, including required compliance and workplace training.
- Identify training and development needs in partnership with department leaders.
- Support leadership development and employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintain appropriate training records.
Healthcare Environment Responsibilities
- Promote HR practices that support quality patient care and organizational goals.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the unique staffing, regulatory, and employee-relations considerations associated with a healthcare environment.
- Support organizational initiatives related to employee safety, workplace culture, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Previous experience managing or supervising HR functions preferred.
- Healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or other regulated-industry HR experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and employee relations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to work in an office and healthcare facility environment.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively throughout the workday.
- Ability to use computers and other standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel between Ibis Healthcare locations may be required.
- May occasionally require work outside of normal business hours based on organizational needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Human Resources Manager may supervise HR staff and/or support staff as assigned and may provide functional guidance to managers and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
Confidentiality
The Human Resources Manager will have access to confidential employee, organizational, payroll, benefits, and employment information. The incumbent is expected to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all applicable privacy and organizational requirements.
