Intern

Ibis Healthcare provides internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to earn firsthand experience in related field of study through available outpatient, community services, acute inpatient, and residential services. Interns may provide support to staff and clients within specific programs. Reports to and functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the program supervisor/manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this internship, candidates must have at least a high school diploma and currently be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a relevant program at a college or university. Interns should be able to read, write, and understand both verbal and written instructions. They must also be capable of filing documents alphabetically and operating office equipment. Strong communication skills are essential, as interns will be required to provide information and respond to questions from employees, clients, visitors, and external providers. Additionally, undergraduate and graduate students must ensure that their college or university has an active and valid agreement with the organization that is recorded with the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES

The responsibilities listed below are not exhaustive and may vary based on the selected internship program.

  • Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic company information.
  • Perform clerical duties, maintain files, and organize documents; photocopy, fax, etc., as needed
  • Assist in preparing client areas per program guidelines, where applicable.
  • Compose documents, charts, and reports, and may assist with presentations where applicable.
  • Run general program-related tasks as directed under the agency's guidelines.
  • Manage databases and input information, data, and records.
  • Set up, break down, organize, and maintain conference rooms, training rooms, and meeting rooms, and update company calendars.
  • Shadow program-specific staff and train in a variety of tasks.
  • Update and post supervised social media and website content if applicable; respond to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails where applicable.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with personnel and clients.
- Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stress.
- Assists staff with support in all areas of functional responsibility in a courteous, supportive manner.
- Maintains and exhibits servant leadership qualities and exceeds customers' expectations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- General climate-controlled health care setting.
- Tasks may be completed in a combination of sitting and standing, use of desk and standard office equipment.
- Interface with patients in an outpatient, residential, community service, or acute care inpatient environment.
- Fast paced. Multi-tasking requires above-average time management skills with a team approach.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Abilities include reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and staying calm under stress. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required include close-up, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds alone. May be required to deliver standing presentations that involve speaking and listening to the audience.
