Outpatient LPN (Injection)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Injection Nurse will provide direct nursing care by administering long-acting injections to patients with a behavioral health disorder, based on a systematic body of knowledge. Assures patient safety through safe administration of medications and infection control within an Outpatient facility. The Injection nurse will participate as a contributing member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Mon-Fri 7:00 AM- 4:30 PM

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed Practical Nurse program with 1 year of experience preferred. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, families, employees, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and request the assistance of the RN when necessary. Ability to multitask, display decision-making and critical thinking skills, and basic computer skills.


 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Administer and note reactions to long-acting injections.
  • Observe patients and report any problems or potential issues directly to the provider.
  • Coordinate with clinical providers and the pharmacy to fulfill patient requests.
  • Assist in following up/rescheduling with patients who have missed their appointments.
  • Support with Health Center tasks as needed, including but not limited to completing labs, recording vitals, and assisting the Medical Doctor.
  • Maintain efficient workflow management and organization in accordance with program requirements.
  • Maintain the quality of clinical documentation to program requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed as per program requirements.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
  • Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency, and department.
  • Completes administrative functions and data entry in a timely and accurate manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to deliver standing presentations, speak, and listen to the audience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Outpatient psychiatric and primary care settings. Fast-paced team approach. Multi-tasking requires above-average time management skills.
