Team Lead- Care Manager Central Intake

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Team Lead for Care Managers of the Adult Central Intake will be responsible for the daily operations of the program, including supervising direct service staff and providing training and consultation. Additionally, the Team Lead may assist in the initial triage and assessment of individuals in need of care by advocating for, coordinating, and ensuring continuity of evidence-based care. This role also involves facilitating a collaborative process for triage, assessment, planning, and communication. The Team Lead participates as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and reports to, as well as operates under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the program supervisor or program manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of supervisory experience (preferred), and experience in a high patient volume program. Knowledge of managed care, billing, and insurance verification. Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn and use other software. Ability to communicate effectively verbally with managers, clients, service providers, family members, and the general public, providing information and responding to questions. Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships necessary for proper functioning. Demonstrates skills to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and facilitate tasks and work assignments.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Directly supervise assigned program staff and ensure compliance with training requirements. 
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of direct services within the reporting unit.
  • Manage the daily operations of the assigned program staff, including scheduling, efficient collection of client payments, and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external programs and agencies.
  • Attend agency-wide, division, and program meetings, as well as seminars, conferences, and workshops, to enhance essential skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct interviews, hire prospective employees, and orient them to the program.
  • Assume administrative and supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, hand-eye dexterity, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to facilitate presentations while standing or sitting.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    A secure facility that provides an inpatient treatment program for those experiencing a mental health emergency needing 24-hour care in a safe, supportive environment. Some programs may require traveling within Hillsborough County via personal vehicle or agency vehicle to facilitate in-home client services in a variety of socioeconomic neighborhoods.
