QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' experience transporting clients. Must be able to operate any Class 3 vehicles, such as sedan, van, or SUV. Experience in the mental health field or health care setting preferred. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with patients, co-workers and visitors. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have leadership skills. Must meet minimum requirements for providers with which agency contracts. Must have a reliable source of transportation, a valid Florida driver's license, a clean driving record, and automobile insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to stand for an extended period.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
General climate-controlled health care setting. Most work completed entails driving, administering and managing documentation, coordinating scheduled transportation, and overseeing staff and agency vehicles to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Interface with clients in an outpatient or acute care inpatient environment. Fast paced. Multi-tasking requires above average time management skills. Team approach.
