Medical Director - Primary Care

The Medical Director for our Primary Care Health Center will oversee and manage licensed medical staff at three small FQHC primary care practice locations within the Tampa Bay Area. As a future member of our experienced primary care team, your expertise in Family Practice or Internal Medicine will be vital in determining the best treatments and care plans for each patient's unique health needs, recognizing that quality healthcare should never be compromised by one's ability to pay. Whether a patient has insurance, is underinsured, or has no coverage at all, all patients receive the same excellent care from the same expert providers.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish) with additional compensation.
  • Must have an active license to practice in Florida. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience demonstrates moderate administrative responsibilities.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • The position involves overseeing and managing licensed medical staff at three small FQHC primary care practice locations.
  • The Medical Director acts as liaison with the general medical community.
  • Work is performed with a high degree of independence under the administrative supervision of the Health Center Executive Director.
  • The Medical Director acts as a practicing physician serving patients 90% of the time. 10% is dedicated to administrative functions.
  • The Medical Director also provides ongoing peer review and annual assessment of licensed medical staff and shares physician on-call responsibilities
  • Monitors medical staff productivity and professional performance
  • Provides for the integration of primary care services for Ibis Healthcare
  • Conducts chart reviews of both physicians and ARNPs to ensure documentation requirements are completed promptly and meet minimum medical requirements; and is responsible for providing formal ARNP protocol.
