Therapist (Full-Time)-Mobile Crisis Support

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of students and determine the appropriate level of care, either diversion and linkage to outpatient services or Baker Act for inpatient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention to students in a public-school setting and support to families, students, and faculty.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of clinical and administrative services following program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.).
  • Maintains cooperative relationships with other internal departments and external agencies and keeps supervisor informed at all times of all relevant client, program, and community issues
  • Understands the basic tenants of Co-Occurring disorders and the relationship between mental health and substance abuse.
  • The therapist will also demonstrate knowledge of the age-specific needs of the clients treated in the program.
  • The therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care per program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.) to children and adolescents.
  • Assists staff with support in all areas of functional responsibility in a courteous, supportive manner.
  • Maintains and exhibits servant leadership qualities and exceeds customers' expectations.


 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have one of the following Florida Board Licenses (Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) or to be a Registered Intern within 6 months of licensure and have a master's degree in human services or other related field of study to be qualified.

The therapist is an advanced professional who provides direct therapeutic services to identify mental health and substance abuse clients.

Will be required to travel within Hillsborough County via personal vehicle as part of job duties. Valid driver's license and insurance required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • General office and health care setting. Will be required to travel within Hillsborough County via personal vehicle to provide services in a community setting, predominantly in the home.
  • Most work is completed while sitting using standard office equipment.
  •  Multi-tasking, fast-paced, team approach requiring above average time management skills.

  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must occasionally work outside.
